49ers start date for training camp announced

The 49ers’ exact training camp schedule isn’t out, but their start date has been announced. San Francisco’s preseason work will officially get underway on July 26 with both veterans and rookies scheduled to report.

A July 26 report date means practices will likely begin Wednesday, July 27. That exact day will be announced by the team along with their full slate of workouts and open practices.

San Francisco will get a couple weeks of practice in before suiting up to host the Green Bay Packers in their preseason opener on August 12.

Camp always holds a lot of importance, but it’ll be especially intriguing for the 49ers this season. There will likely be a full slate of QB1 reps for Trey Lance where he’ll get to throw with pads on in full 11-on-11 drills. San Francisco also has to sort out its offensive line with three vacancies on the interior. The strong safety job is up for grabs and several players will be getting their first real offseason action in returns from injury.
