49ers roster moves: CB Tim Harris flexed from practice squad

The San Francisco 49ers are taking advantage of some of the NFL new rules on roster management prior to their matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. To solidify their secondary depth, the 49ers are flexing cornerback Tim Harris from their practice squad to the active roster. By flexing instead of promoting Harris, the 49ers will be allowed to place him back on the practice squad without exposing him to waivers.

Cornerback Emmanuel Moseley is out with a hamstring injury, so Harris will give the club additional depth in the secondary and on special teams.

Harris was drafted by the 49ers in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft out of the University of Virginia. He missed all of last season after being placed on injured reserve with a groin injury. After failing to make the team’s active roster this season, he was signed to the practice squad. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
