49ers OL Mike Person hurt in joint practice with Broncos

It wasn’t clear when Mike Person went down during the 49ers’ joint practice with the Broncos on Friday, but the starting right guard had a walking boot on his left foot and was using crutches after the session according to Matt Barrows of the Athletic.

There’s no word on the extent of his injury. This doesn’t bode well for the 49ers’ offensive front which is already dealing with serious depth issues. Joshua Garnett would be the favorite to replace Person, but he’s out with a finger injury, though he should be slated to come back soon.

Najee Toran has been filling in with Garnett out, and is the presumed favorite to grab the first-team reps.

San Francisco’s next preseason game is Monday night in Denver.

This is a developing story, we’ll provide updates as they come available.
