49ers injury report: Jimmy Garoppolo, George Kittle miss 2nd practice in a row

The San Francisco 49ers returned to practice Thursday and released their second injury report of the week. They had six player sit out, including quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and tight end George Kittle.

Center Alex Mack returned from a day off and left tackle Trent Williams, dealing with a shoulder injury, was a full participant after sitting out Wednesday.

However, several starters sat out. Garoppolo (calf) missed his second day in a row and so did Kittle (calf). Cornerback K’Waun Williams (calf) also sat out for the second day in a row, as well as defensive end Samson Ebukam (hamstring). Defensive tackle D.J. Jones, who was not on the injury report Wednesday, appeared Thursday with a knee injury and was unable to practice. Defensive end Arik Armstead had the day off.

For the second day in a row, defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw (knee), running back Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) and cornerback Josh Norman (chest) were limited.
