The Browns were knocking on the door to pull within one score of the 49ers on Monday night. Baker Mayfield zipped a throw into Antonio Callaway for what looked like a touchdown, but the ball bounced out of Callaway’s hands and into the arms of 49ers cornerback K’Waun Williams.
That’s the kind of luck San Francisco did not have a season ago. It was their second interception of the game and seventh of the year. That matches their takeaway total for all of last year.
