CJ Beathard orchestrated a nice drive to get the 49ers deep into the red zone. That area of the field plagued them last year, but it wasn’t a problem on this series.
Rookie wide receiver Jalen Hurd got one-on-one coverage at the top of the formation. He looked like a veteran on a fade route that was perfectly thrown by Beathard. It was hard to tell Hurd is still learning the intricacies of playing receiver. His ability to use his size and body control to make this play will make him dangerous this year, even if he still needs polish.
