Interceptions are a rarity for the 49ers’ secondary. Undrafted rookie Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles came up with a big one Thursday night against the Chargers.
Late in the third quarter, Chargers quarterback Easton Stick stepped into a throw deep down the right side looking to give his team a two-score lead again. Fowles read the play the whole way and made a sweet leaping grab.
Fowles was playing linebacker throughout camp according to Matt Barrows of the Athletic, but lined up at safety on that play and came up with a huge pick.
