Deebo Samuel is most well known for his after-the-catch abilities. He showed off his prowess making contested catches down the field in the preseason opener.
One play after drawing a 25-yard pass interference penalty, Samuel went up over the top of a Cowboys cornerback for a 45-yard reception. That helped set up the 49ers’ second touchdown of the game.
If Samuel is going to make plays like this while also being a threat in the short-to-intermediate areas of the passing game, he’s going to be a big-time producer right away.
