49ers GM John Lynch says team has not contacted Steelers about Antonio Brown

According to Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert, several teams have inquired about trading for wide receiver Antonio Brown. But one team who hasn’t are the San Francisco 49ers. Their general manager John Lynch spoke to the media at the scouting combine and made it clear while they think Brown is a great player the team has not inquired about him.

The reason Lynch got put on the spot is that social media has linked the 49ers to Brown from early on thanks for former 49er Jerry Rice. Rice has lobbied publicly for San Francisco to bring in Brown and Brown has played along completely.

San Francisco would be a decent landing spot for Brown. They have a young team on the rise and Brown would definitely spark the offense. But Brown is used to having a future Hall of Fame quarterback throwing him the football. There are only a handful of teams

It isn’t clear if some team will step up with an offer acceptable to the Steelers for Brown but so far the 49ers haven’t thrown their hat in the ring. Brown seems like he’s convinced a deal will happen and he can move on with his career somewhere else but in listening to Colbert’s comments I’m not at all convinced.
