49ers get the win but Kyler Murray outshines Nick Bosa in battle of No. 1 vs. No. 2

The San Francisco 49ers got what mattered most on Thursday night at State Farm Stadium. They defeated the Arizona Cardinals 28-25. However, entering the game, there was the underlying storyline of the battle there would be between Cardinals QB Kyler Murray and 49ers pass rusher Nick Bosa.

They went No. 1 and No. 2 in the draft this year. Murray has been fantastic so far this season while Bosa has been the talk of the NFL recently.

On Thursday night, it was Murray who came out ahead.

Murray passed for 241 yards and two touchdowns. He did not turn the ball over. He rushed for 34 yards. He rallied the Cardinals in the fourth quarter.

Bosa finished the game with one tackle. He did not have a sack and he did not even get a hit on Murray. He was neutralized by Cardinals left tackle D.J. Humphries.

The two will face each other again in Week 11 and Bosa is seeing more team success than Murray is, but one of the biggest positives coming out of the loss for the Cardinals was the fact that Bosa was not the story at all.
