49ers and Steelers fans completely took over LA stadiums for Rams and Chargers home games

The NFL’s move into Los Angeles has dealt with its share of deserved criticism.

The Chargers have no footprint in the city and have to play in a soccer stadium that consistently draws more visiting fans. The Rams — despite ties to Los Angeles and on-field success — haven’t fared much better in that regard.

The Rams were supposed to have a home game on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. You just never would have guessed that from the crowd at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

It was a sea of red.

Like, this is a photo from a Rams home game. I promise. It is.

The Niners faithful made the trip to Los Angeles and showed up in full force. It’s been that way for the past two seasons in Los Angeles, but with the 49ers at 5-0, Rams fans didn’t seen too keen on keeping tickets away from excited and motivated Niners fans.

The banner day for Los Angeles football fandom only continued, though. The Chargers hosted the Steelers over in Carson at the Dignity Health Sports Park (formerly StubHub Center).

Let’s just say that this was not a Chargers home game.

So many Terrible Towels.

Both the Chargers and Rams are slated to move into the new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood next season, and so far, neither team has really improved on the lukewarm fan support.

Let’s face it: Los Angeles NFL games are a destination trip for visiting fanbases, and a new stadium won’t change that.
