With the Golden State Warriors struggling, the San Francisco 49ers have picked up the Bay Area baton for successful sports teams in Northern California. The 49ers own a 13-3 regular-season record and await their first playoff game of a Super Bowl stretch run.
The San Francisco 49ers clinched a first-round bye in the NFC’s playoff bracket with a dramatic win over their NFC West rival, the Seattle Seahawks last weekend.
Most of the football world is locking into Wild Card weekend, except for one All-Pro tight end.
A significant part of their rise to the number one seed in the NFC playoff picture is their third-year tight end, George Kittle. Instead of kicking back and watching Wild Card weekend in the NFL, Kittle was spotted at San Francisco’s new arena, the Chase Center.
Kittle along with fellow tight end, Levine Toilolo were in attendance for the Warriors’ 111-104 loss to the Detroit Pistons. At one point in the game, Kittle was shown on the jumbotron in Chase Center and proceeded to fire up the crowd.
Later in the game, Kittle was seen counting up a long receipt that was later confirmed by the 49ers Pro-Bowler as his 50/50 raffle tickets.
Early in the week, Kittle was named as the tight end on the NFL’s All-Pro first team and capped off the 49ers’ first-round playoff bye week at the Warriors’ game. Don’t expect Kittle at many more Warriors home games in the near future as the 49ers return to the field Saturday in the NFC Divisional round of the playoffs.
