498 new Glasgow homes to rent on Clyde as 20-storey building takes huge step forward

A 498 home development looks set to become one of the tallest in Glasgow.

The 20-storey build to rent construction on the Clyde is expected to be completed by October next year, and boasts stunning views across the city.

The four block site stands at Central Quay, next door to the Glasgow Live and the Daily Record building, and just minutes from the SEC and Hydro.

The one, two and three bedroom home development boasts its own gym, courtyard, roof terraces, cinema room and remote working facilities.

And the team behind the project by developer Platform Glasgow were thrilled to mark the latest phase of construction with a 'topping out' ceremony, to celebrate completion of the structure's core.

Development director Matt Willcock explained: "The Clyde Waterfront has been earmarked as an area for urban regeneration by Glasgow City Council and we are helping to accelerate this by delivering a ready-made neighbourhood that will deliver much-needed homes and have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of residents.”

The waterfront homes are across four blocks ranging in height from six to 20-storeys and residents will also enjoy a private games room, bar, guest lounges and group dining rooms.

Gary Holmes, from Graham, the contractor behind construction, explained: “As demand continues to outstrip the supply of new homes available for rent across the city, it is fantastic to see Platform Glasgow quickly taking shape.

"Graham is proud to be collaborating with Platform and their team to deliver this iconic development. The unique offering will not only boost housing supply, but also create a thriving community along the River Clyde.”
