49-year-old Titan FC COO Lex McMahon brawls in MMA debut, wins by choke

When we found out back in September that Titan FC COO Lex McMahon would be making his MMA debut at 49, it would’ve been understandable to think he wouldn’t exactly put himself through hell inside the cage.

But think again.

On Saturday at Force 4 in the Dominican Republic, McMahon (1-0) went balls to the wall against 24-fight veteran Justin Thornton (6-18), engaging in a brawl before winning with a rear-naked choke.

Check out these wild highlights (via Twitter):

THE INTRODUCTION

THE BRAWLING

THE FINISH

I don’t care if this was a hand-picked opponent with a losing record, McMahon chose to get inside that cage for a real fight for the first time at age 49. That takes guts.

His reason for doing it?

“Why does the old man want to get his ass whooped and get after it?” McMahon, who was donating his fight purse to AHERO, said in September after making the announcement. “For 12 years, I’ve been asking these fighters to go in and fight so I can make money and my partner can make money. … It feels a bit inauthentic and disingenuous to not have done this. All these feelings, all these emotions, hard work, pain and suffering, I’m gonna go through it.”

Indeed he did. We salute you, sir.
