Another 48 people in Tokyo were confirmed Monday to be infected with the novel coronavirus, it was learned.
Of these, 20 people who tested positive were part of a mass screening for the infection.
Monday was the second consecutive day that more than 40 people were confirmed infected with the virus.
The total number of infected people in Tokyo is 5,592.
