47-year-old killed in horror 90ft fall off Snowdon's notorious Crib Goch ridge

A 47-year-old man who died after suffering a 90ft fall on Snowdon's notorious Crib Goch ridge has been named.

Rahiz Nawaz Khan of Beeches Road, Rowley Regis in the West Midlands died on July 24 on his way to hospital following the horror fall.

Acting senior coroner for North West Wales, Kate Sutherland said the haulier had been with two other men descending the peak on Crib Goch when he fell and became unconscious.

The provisional cause of death was multiple injuries due to a fall from a height.

A full inquest will be held at Caernarfon.

It’s believed he died after plunging more than 90ft.

Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team said he had fallen on the lower slopes of the north ridge of Crib Goch.

A coastguard rescue helicopter from Caernarfon and the North Wales Police drone unit were alerted to help find him before he was airlifted to hospital.
