Ambitious plans to regenerate town centres across the West Midlands have received a £46.3 million boost from the government's flagship Towns Fund.
Two areas across the West Midlands have been given the green light to implement plans to improve the look and feel of their high streets, strengthen transport links and create jobs for local people.
Bloxwich and Dudley are among the 15 agreements signed today (Dec 2) for the package of investment which totals £2.4 billion across the UK.
Bloxwich has been allocated more than £20 million to improve long-term employment and construction skills training for residents, while Dudley has secured £25 million for its University Centre (UC) project which involves the construction of a new higher education centre in Dudley at Castle Hill.
The deals bring total Towns Fund investment in the West Midlands to £327.5 million.
Neil O'Brien MP, minister for levelling up, the union and constitution said: "As we deliver on our commitment to level up communities across the United Kingdom, we are investing in ambitious local plans that will create greater opportunity.
"And towns like Dudley and Bloxwich are leading the way with fantastic projects that will provide the training and skills that local residents and employers need.
"With £327.5 million of Towns Fund investment now confirmed for the region, we are ensuring that the Midlands Engine powers our national economic recovery."
