450 new branches of Morrisons will appear across the UK next year as the supermarket chains rebrands the branches of McColl's it already owns.
Morrisons had planned to convert 350 of its McColl's stores into the Morrisons Daily format, but it has now increased that number to 450.
Retail Gazette reports that all stores will be changed the end of November 2022, according to BirminghamLive.
McColl's says six shops will be converted every week throughout the year, and will then offer a wider range of products.
McColl’s chief executive Jonathan Miller said: “Within 12 months we will have 450 stores open and trading as Morrisons Daily, representing over a third of our total community store estate and over half of our sales,”
“These stores have a higher grocery mix and wider breadth of product choice which is great for our customers, and with strong sales growth and better return on investment, it is great for the company too. We look forward to continue working closely with Morrisons in the years ahead.”
