41-year-old woman assaulted by woman on footpath near Deans, Livingston

Police in West Lothian are appealing for information following a serious assault in Livingston.

The incident happened around 11pm on Thursday (June 4) when a 41-year-old woman was assaulted by another woman on a footpath near to Raeburn Rigg, in Deans.

The victim was taken to St John’s Hospital for treatment and later released.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information which may assist to get in touch.

The suspect is described as a woman, thought to be about 50 years old, of slim build with blond hair.

Detective Sergeant John Bowerbank from Livingston Police Station asked for anyone with information on the incident to get in touch.

He said: “This appears to be have been a violent unprovoked attack which left the woman with a serious injury.

“I am appealing to anyone in the area at that time who saw anything to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting incident number 1231 of 6 June, 2020.
