40 from NGO under lens for Rajasthan paper leak

JAIPUR: Over 40 persons holding various positions in Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle (RGSC) have been found to be directly involved with REET, which was cancelled by CM Ashok Gehlot after it was found that the level-II exam was leaked.

The RGSC, an NGO backed by the Congress, had been involved by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) to conduct the REET while ignoring its own teachers.

Most of those arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) with the paper leak racket are linked with the RGSC.

Documents accessed by TOI show that 15 persons holding key positions in RGSC are government officials. “The more you dig deeper into it, you will find that RGSC is deeply involved in the racket. The documents accessed from RBSE and RGSC revealed that 40 people, right from sacked RBSE chairman DP Jaroli to REET coordinators in 23 districts, hold posts in RGSC,” said Hoshyar Meena, national secretary, AVBP.

The list of these 40 persons will be handed over to the SOG on Thursday to investigate their role, added Meena. The private persons, who are involved in the case, are already under the scanner of the SOG.

“Ideally, it should not have happened that any NGO was roped in conducting an important exam. Probably, this is for the first time that private persons have been engaged at the level of safeguarding the question papers in exam centres. The matter should be probed in order to restore the faith in the government and exam conducting agencies,” said Prakash Mishra, spokesperson of Rajasthan Teachers Association (Shekhawat).
