A system located over the eastern Gulf of Mexico, central and southern Florida, and western Cuba has a 40% chance of becoming a cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Wednesday.
"A tropical depression could form during the next few days. This disturbance is expected to move over the central Gulf today," the Miami-based weather forecaster said.
