Aug. 11--Four men have been wounded in separate shootings since Monday morning on the city's West and South sides, officials said.
A man was shot by his girlfriend's nephew after an argument in the London Town neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
The man, 41, was fighting with his girlfriend at 2:10 a.m. in the 800 block of East 100th Place when the girlfriend's nephew shot him in both legs, said Officer Amina Greer, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department.
He went to Roseland Community Hospital, and his condition has been stabilized. Nobody is in custody in connection with the shooting.
A man was shot about 9:15 p.m. Monday on the 5100 block of West Washington Boulevard in the city's Austin community on the West Side, said Officer Nicole Trainor, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.
Preliminary reports indicated a 23-year-old man suffered a wound to the back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. His condition had stabilized there, said police spokesman Officer Ron Gaines. No information was available about the circumstances of the shooting, and the man is being "very uncooperative," Gaines said.
About 7:30 p.m. Monday, a 24-year-old man was shot in the face near the 9500 block of South Wentworth Avenue in the city's Longwood Manor neighborhood on the South Side, said spokesman Officer Veejay Zala.
According to reports, someone in a vehicle fired shots at the man, striking him in the nose, Zala said.
The man was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
Earlier Monday morning, a man was left in critical condition after being shot in the groin and abdomen in the 2700 block of West Lithuanian Plaza Court in the city's Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side, police said.
