June 23--At least four people have been wounded in shootings since Monday evening, police said.
Most recently, a 24-year-old man was shot while waiting at a bus stop in Roseland on the city's South Side.
The man was waiting for a bus in the 10300 block of South Wentworth Avenue about 3 a.m. Tuesday when two people armed with a gun approached and opened fire, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago police spokesman.
The man was shot in the back and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was listed in serious condition early Tuesday.
About 12:35 a.m., a 21-year-old man was wounded during a drive-by shooting Tuesday in the Gresham neighborhood.
Police said the man was leaving a building he had been rehabbing when a gunman drove by and fired shots. The man, 21, was shot in his leg. He was taken to Christ Medical Center where his condition stabilized, Gaines said.
About 6:10 p.m. Monday, a 19-year-old man was shot in Brighton Park on the Southwest Side.
The teen was in a vehicle in the 3900 block of South Archer Avenue when one of the windows shattered and he realized he had been shot, Gaines said. The 19-year-old drove himself to Saint Anthony Hospital and was later transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition stabilized, police said.
Minutes earlier, a 25-year-old man was shot in Englewood. The man was walking in the 6900 block of South Peoria Street when he heard gunfire and felt pain, Gaines said. He then realized he had been shot in the buttocks.
The man took himself to St. Bernard Hospital where he was listed in good condition as of early Tuesday.
No one was in custody for any of the shootings as of early Tuesday, police said.
