The Arizona Cardinals will not have their top two cornerbacks to start the season. Patrick Peterson is suspended the first six games and Robert Alford is out with a fractured leg. He will miss at least the first half of the season.
And while they are confident in the cornerbacks they have on the roster, the Cardinals will likely seek veteran help.
Who are some players still available?
David Amerson

Amerson was on the roster in the spring until he was surprisingly released him in June. He is still unsigned. He knows the defense at least some, although his exit suggests something might have happened.
Sam Shields

He played last season for the L.A. Rams under defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. The Cardinals, under Vance Joseph as DC, also run a defense similar to the Rams. Shields has been a No. 1 cornerback in the past.
Leon Hall

The Cardinals had interest in Hall three years ago. Now 34 years old, he still can play but isn’t great. However, having played many years for the Cincinnati Bengals, Cardinals DC Vance Joseph was his position coach at one time.
Davon House

House has played eight seasons, mostly for the Green Bay Packers and has been a starter. He is coming off a three-game season in 2018 in which he had a shoulder injury. If healthy, he could be solid depth.
