A wild finished turned what would have otherwise been considered a dud of a ballgame into a thriller on Sunday. It took three quarters for the Minnesota Vikings to come to life, but once they did, it was off to the races for a 31-17 victory over the Chicago Bears.
A switch must have flipped in the second half of the game. Quarterback Kirk Cousins went from being the Bears’ human punching bag in the pocket to throwing deep dimes downfield.
Whatever happened out there was obviously contagious because Minnesota’s defense fed off the same energy and held the Bears to only a field goal in the last two quarters. It was an impressive way to finish another disappointing season for a team that clearly underachieved.
