The Philadelphia Eagles had a looming decision to make on Nigel Bradham and according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, Bradham will enter free agency after not having his team option picked up.
With the Eagles set for changes on both sides of the ball, here are four takeaways from the team’s decision to let Bradham test free agency.

1. Eagles save almost $5 million in cap space
The release of Bradham clears $4.465M of cap space for the Eagles, who aren’t done making moves before the new league year begins.
2. Bradham was solid but not spectacular
Better as a coverage linebacker, Bradham excelled on obvious passing and third downs. The veteran linebacker became a liability against the run, earning a 64.7-grade last season for the Eagles.
3. Eagles making significant changes at LB and secondary
Bradham’s jettison is just the start of a litany of moves that will strengthen this defense while making it younger and faster.
4. T.J. Edwards ascending?
The move will either signal the draft of a linebacker or signing one in free agency, but could T.J. Edwards be ready for a promotion. The Eagles undrafted free agent from the last offseason, Edwards excelled as a special teams player and was getting significant reps as the Eagles entered the playoffs.
Bradham’s release could signal the beginning of the T.J. Edwards era in Philadelphia.
