Not much has gone right for the Jets in 2019, but they rose to the occasion against the Giants in Week 10.
Gang Green turned in a solid enough performance on offense and did its job on defense down the stretch to come away with a 34-27 victory over the crosstown Giants to improve to 2-7 on the season. For the first time in a while, let’s break down a Jets win with four takeaways from Sunday’s action.
Hats off to the front seven

The Jets have been solid against the run all season, but they took their game to the next level against Saquon Barkley and the Giants.
New York’s front seven essentially took Barkley out of the game, limiting him to one yard on 13 carries. Gang Green’s pass defense was solid, too, collecting six sacks and 10 quarterback hits.
That’s why you keep Jamal Adams

It took one play for Jamal Adams to reaffirm how important he is to New York’s defensive operation.
Adams bullied Saquon Barkley en route to a strip-sack on Daniel Jones in which he ripped the ball out of the quarterback’s arms with one hand before running it in for a touchdown.
Not only did Adams make the play of the game, but he turned in arguably the best performance of his career with nine tackles, two sacks and a key stop on fourth and short.
Crowder Connection

It’s time to recognize Jamison Crowder’s rapport with Sam Darnold.
After registering eight receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown against the Dolphins, Crowder was once again Darnold’s favorite target against the Giants, hauling in five passes for 81 yards and a score.
Crowder has been the safety blanket Darnold was missing in his rookie year. Expect him to continue as a staple of New York’s offense moving forward.
The Kings of New York

The Jets and the Giants don’t meet often in the regular season, but the bragging rights between the two remain at One Jets Drive following Sunday afternoon’s action.
It wasn’t pretty, but New York emerged with a rivalry victory regardless. You can’t put a price on that kind of satisfaction in what has been a lost season for Gang Green.
