With less than a week until the Titans officially open the preseason again the Philadelphia Eagles, the Titans continue to grind in training camp.
On Thursday, a host of players were absent as others continued to work to make the jump from the 90-man roster to the final 53-man roster.
Here are some takeaways from today’s practice.
1. WR Corey Davis stole the show.

It may only be training camp, but it’s hard not to get excited about the kind of camp Davis is having. Davis had the reception of the day with a one-handed catch in the red zone over three defenders.
2. NFL officials make the calls.

Officials showed up to today’s practice to make the calls. This is something the Titans have grown accustomed to over the last few years.
The starter at right tackle caught us by surprise.

The first team period saw an interested starter at the right tackle position in Austin Pasztor. Taylor Lewan started left tackle, with Rodger Saffold at right guard and Ben Jones started at center, Nate Davis started at right guard.
Jack Conklin did not practice, and fellow offensive lineman Dennis Kelly left early with what was thought to be a stomach bug. Kevin Pamphile played left tackle with the second team.
4. The team was without multiple players.

Wide receiver A.J. Brown, running back Derrick Henry, outside linebacker Kamalei Correa, offensive lineman Jack Conklin, tight end Delanie Walker and nose tackle Frank Herron were all held out of Thursday’s practice.
