4-star quarterback John Rhys Plumlee decommits from Georgia

John Rhys Plumlee, the 3-star quarterback recruit and former Georgia commit has announced that he will be signing elsewhere on Wednesday.

Plumlee is set to join the Ole Miss Rebels on National Signing Day, rather than the Bulldogs as he had originally planned.

The Mississippi native is ranked prospect No. 350 in the nation and No. 15 in his home state, as well as 13th amongst dual-threats.

Plumlee was thought to be ‘all-Dawg’ before Kirby Smart convinced 4-star quarterback Dwayne Mathis to come to Georgia over Ohio State.  In addition to Mathis, the Bulldogs also got former walk-on Stetson Bennett back from junior college on a full-ride scholarship in December.

Now, Plumlee, who intended to play football and baseball for Georgia, will be a Rebel.  In a not so shocking turn of events, the Mississippi native finally announced that he would no longer be a Bulldog late Monday night.

We wish Plumlee the best in Oxford.
