The weather gets a lot nicer in the spring and warmer temperatures can lead to new income opportunities. While snow removal, holiday light installation and selling firewood are popular winter side hustles, you will have to choose new gigs to make money during spring break.

Some of these side hustles can be quite lucrative and replace your full-time income. Here’s the list of spring side hustles.

Pet Sitting and Walking

When the weather gets nicer and kids have time off from school, more families go on vacation. These same families can’t bring their pets on a plane and they will need someone to take care of their furry friends while they are away. The average pet sitter earns $33,377 per year, according to ZipRecruiter.

However, it is possible to earn close to six figures in this industry, according to Redditors. It’s also a viable side hustle for students, with one person claiming to make more than $1,500 per month as a pet sitter and walker while being a full-time college student. Some people scale pet sitting and walking services to multi-six-figure incomes, with one pet sitter claiming to know pet care businesses that earn $4 million in annual revenue.

Moving Help

When people move to a new location, they need someone to help carry furniture, tables and other heavy items in the house. While moving services operate year-round, most home sales take place in the spring and summer. ZipRecruiter estimates that the average salary for a mover is $37,827.

It’s possible to scale this business to six figures if you do enough prospecting and seven figures is even possible if you delegate some of the tasks. From a side hustle perspective, you just need a few good contacts to generate a steady stream of customers to keep you busy. Building relationships with local real estate agents, property managers and local business groups. You can also build a Google Page for your business that gets reviews and ranks well for local SEO. That way, you can start generating inbound leads instead of relying exclusively on prospecting.

Airbnb Cleaning Services

If you live in a popular area that gets plenty of tourists, Airbnb cleaning services can turn into a valuable side hustle. Airbnb hosts need to clean the property each time someone leaves and you can provide that service. ZipRecruiter pegs the national average salary at $30,785 for this type of service, but it is possible to earn more than $10,000 per month.

You should reach out to Airbnb hosts regularly, as a single customer can generate plenty of recurring business. It’s possible to start on your own with a few customers, but Airbnb cleaners can scale their services by subcontracting some of the work if demand is too much to handle. The best way to boost your earnings is to regularly prospect and stick with the clients who pay you the most.

Power Washing

As the snow melts, some homeowners will want to power wash their driveways and outdoor decks to improve their look. Many of these same homeowners may turn to people who can provide power washing services instead of doing it themselves. These homeowners may turn into recurring customers and if you do a good job, the homeowner may tell their neighbors about you, opening the door to referrals. Being in the neighborhood will also give you the opportunity to talk with people in the area as you work on the job.

Pressure washing is a very similar service and ZipRecruiter says that the average salary is $38,969 in this industry. However, it is possible to earn a six-figure income with this side hustle or it can be more lucrative if you live near a wealthy neighborhood.
