Another week has past and it is time to check in with the rest of the NFC West. What has been going on with the Seattle Seahawks? Here are a few stories from the last week that Arizona Cardinals fans should know about.
Seahawks sign Geno Smith, create competition at backup QB

The Seahawks, who lost last year’s backup QB, Brett Hundley, as a free agent to the Cardinals, added Paxton Lynch earlier in the offseason. They signed Geno Smith last week as well. While everyone knows Russell Wilson is the starter, Seahawks fans will have a competition to watch for the backup job as the offseason progress and the preseason rolls around.
Seahawks have 3 remaining unsigned draft picks

Seattle signed four more of their 11 draft picks last week. While the Cardinals already have all 11 of their own draft picks under contract. Their remaining unsigned picks are first-round defensive end L.J. Collier, second-round receiver DK Metcalf and third-round linebacker Cody Barton.
DK Metcalf considered a favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year

Cardinals rookie quarterback Kyler Murray, the No. 1 pick in the draft, is the odds-on favorite to be this year’s rookie of the year, but Seattle has a rookie who could be in the mix. Receiver DK Metcalf, drafted in the second round, is one of the favorites as well.
Russell Wilson dubbed as favorite to be MVP

Wilson, one of the best quarterbacks in the league, is always a candidate for the league’s Most Valuable Player award. While a panel of ESPN experts mostly selected other players as their early 2019 MVP pick, one cast a vote for Wilson. It isn’t a bad vote at all.
