4 Saints selected for MMQB’s All-25-and-Under Team

Four members of the New Orleans Saints were selected for the All-25-and-Under Team by Andy Benoit of SI.com’s MMQB. While 2017 Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year Alvin Kamara and Marshon Lattimore were names expected to make such a list, they were joined by two of their teammates who don’t always get such attention.

Because Benoit’s list includes players who recently turned 25 rather than cutting them out altogether, two Saints offensive linemen made the cut: right tackle Ryan Ramczyk and left guard Andrus Peat. Ramczyk (25 years and two months old) was picked by Benoit as an immediate starter on this team of standouts, while Peat (25 years and seven months) was his choice for a top backup, along with Baltimore Ravens left tackle Ronnie Stanley.

As for Kamara and Lattimore: Kamara was Benoit’s hands-down pick for the NFL’s best running back in this age bracket, for his qualities as a runner and receiver. That’s over trendier options such as Dallas Cowboys star Ezekiel Elliott and New York Giants centerpiece Saquon Barkley. Lattimore is Benoit’s clear-cut choice to run with Jacksonville Jaguars cornerstone Jalen Ramsey.

It’s encouraging to see so many Saints make this list. It speaks volumes about where the team’s future is headed.
