As the NFL offseason continues, let’s take a look around the NFC West to see what is going on with the division rivals of the Arizona Cardinals. What is happening with the Los Angeles Rams?
Here are some stories to know.
Clay Matthews upset his old number already being used in Green Bay

The Rams added Matthews in the offseason to upgrade their edge presence. He spent his entire career previously with the Packers. Now his old No. 52 belongs to Rashan Gary, whom Green Bay just drafted. Matthews isn’t happy. He’s a Ram, though. Why does it matter?
Wade Phillips, defensive coordinator and symphony conductor

Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald has been a guest conductor for the Phoenix Symphony. It is a way to generate more attention from non-traditional symphony listeners to attend. That apparently is not unique to Phoenix. Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips did the same thing in L.A. He was a guest conductor for the New West Symphony in Thousand Oaks, directing the national anthem.
Rams waive Blake Countess after asking him for paycut

The Rams don’t have much salary cap space and asked Countess to take a salary reduction. They could not agree on new terms and he was cut by Los Angeles. He has since been picked up off waivers by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Position battles to watch

The Rams have a number of position battles to watch in the offseason. Cameron DaSilva breaks them down.
