4 Pines Brewing Company to open bar in Lake Macquarie

STYLE: The 4 Pines burger bar in Surry Hills. The craft brewing company is set to open a venue in Charlestown Square's under-construction precinct known as The Corner.

CRAFT brewing company 4 Pines has been confirmed as one of the first tenants of Charlestown Square's redeveloped piazza The Corner.

The $10 million redevelopment of the Pearson and Ridley street corner is set to open later this year.

Charlestown Square owner GPT Group is planning to announce the tenants of the new hospitality-based redevelopment in coming weeks, but the Newcastle Herald has learned 4 Pines Brewing Company will establish a presence in the precinct.

The company has begun advertising for staff to work in a "beverage-only operation" in anticipation of an early December opening.

"We've come a long way since our first little Brew Pub in Manly and after an expansion into a further seven venues across Sydney, the Goldie and Torquay we're ready to take on a new spot in Charlestown in the newly developed and highly anticipated 'The Corner' precinct," the company said.

The 4 Pines business began as an independent micro-brewery on the northern beaches of Sydney in 2008.

The company's beers ballooned in popularity across Australia about the middle of this decade and the business was eventually acquired by the world's largest beer company, Anheuser-Busch InBev, in 2017.

4 Pines has a mix of operations that the Charlestown venue is likely to be based off, including beer and burger bars in Surry Hills and Manly, and micro-breweries in Newport and Brookvale.

The Corner will incorporate an outdoor performance space, art installations and a rotation of food trucks.
