4 NFL teams with kicking problems that might drive their fans crazy

The two worst words you can say to a Chicago Bears fan since earlier this year are “Double Doink.”

It gets worse when you consider there are two other words that are frustrating them still as the NFC contenders approach Week 1: Kicking problems. Eddy Pineiro totally shanked an extra point on Thursday night, freaking Bears die-hards out.

But Chicago isn’t the only squad dealing with kicking woes. There are a few other fanbases who might be nervous about their favorite team’s kicking situations as the regular season looms next week (although, hey, it’s the preseason, no worries … right?). Here they are:

1. Chicago Bears

Had to mention them again … what an offseason it’s been since Cody Parkey’s miss.

2. New York Jets

Taylor Bertolet missed three kicks on Thursday …

… but head coach Adam Gase seems okay with him?

3. Minnesota Vikings

Kaare Vedvik cost the team a fifth-round pick when the Vikes traded for him, and he’s 0-for-3 in field goals, which probably means Dan Bailey — who went 21-of-28 last year — is the winner of a kicking competition.

4. Carolina Panthers

Does it count if your dependable kicker is Graham Gano, who might miss eight games if he’s put on injured reserve? Joey Slye has been good in his place, but I’ll throw the Panthers in here anyway.
