4 New Copilot Features for Mobile and Desktop

Microsoft has announced several updates to its AI assistant, Copilot. These include smarter image generation, interactive quiz cards, and more. So, let’s take a closer look at all the latest updates that the company announced in the latest release notes.

1. Upgraded Image Generation with GPT-4o

The Copilot’s image generation capabilities are now powered by the GPT-4o model. This improves the quality of images, making them more detailed and better composed. The update also allows you to refine already generated images based on a previous one and upload images as a starting point.

The feature is already available for Copilot mobile apps (iOS & Android), Copilot.com, Edge, and GroupMe. However, it’s not currently available for Windows and Mac apps, but it’s coming soon.

2. Create Custom Quizzes with Quiz Cards

Copilot can now generate quizzes on almost any topic, like math, science, history, or even pop culture. In order to use this feature, you just have to type something like: “Copilot, can you quiz me on World War II facts?” and Copilot will arrange a quiz on that specific topic. The feature is available on Copilot.com and Copilot mobile app.

3. Make Copilot a Default Assistant on Android

Android users can now set Copilot as their main digital assistant. That means you can launch Copilot with a long press on the home button and ask it to Send a message, Set a timer or alarm, or Request a rideshare. This brings Copilot’s capabilities closer to those of Google Assistant or Siri.

4. Smarter Visual Help for Windows Insiders

A new “Copilot Vision” update helps you with step-by-step visual guides. It can now highlight exactly where to click in a shared app, visually guide you through tasks, or analyze and compare two apps side by side. The feature is currently rolling out for Windows Insiders in the U.S.

While many of these features are currently limited to Copilot.com, mobile apps, or Insider programs, Microsoft says broader access is coming soon. Expect updates for Mac, Windows, and other platforms in the coming weeks.
