4 Nets players test positive for coronavirus, including Kevin Durant

Four Brooklyn Nets players have tested positive for the coronavirus responsible for the pandemic interrupting the 2019-20 NBA season, per the team.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports one of the four is All-NBA forward Kevin Durant, who is reportedly feeling well despite the diagnosis. “Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine,” said Durant via Charania. “We’re going to get through this.”

One of the unnamed players is exhibiting symptoms; the other three are not. All “are presently isolated and under the care of team physicians,” according to the press release.

The four join Utah Jazz players Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell and Detroit Piston Christian Wood as known players with the viral infection.

With Brooklyn having played Boston as recently as recently as March 3rd, it’s possible some of the players may have come into contact with players on the Celtics roster while infected.

The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach is reporting the team is still awaiting results from testing over the weekend, though earlier in the week ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reported Celtics players were not exhibiting any symptoms at the time.
