4 men involved in fight in Mansfield town centre named by police

Four men involved in a fight in Mansfield town centre during which a man was kicked to the head while he was on the floor have been sentenced.

The fight, which was caught on CCTV, broke out in Market Place on the afternoon of July 31 in 2019.

Alexander Lamb, 35, of no fixed address, Thomas Miller, 35, of Portland Street, Mansfield, Stephen Roberts, 44, of no fixed address, and Peter Robinson, 44, of Derby Street, Mansfield, pleaded guilty to charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.

They were each handed a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, when they appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, September 2.

Sergeant Rachel Griffith said: "Nottinghamshire Police will not tolerate such unacceptable, violent disorderly behaviour and we will continue to come down hard on those responsible and ensure that anyone involved in such offences will face the consequences of their actions."
