4 killed, 15 injured as MSRTC bus rams into truck in Beed

AURANGABAD: Four people were killed and 15 others were injured when an MSRTC bus had a head-on collision with a truck on the Ambajogai-Latur Road in Beed district on Sunday morning.

The deceased include the bus conductor and three passengers. The injured were rushed to a government hospital in Ambajogai. Of them, nine were discharged on Sunday evening.

Assistant police inspector Ashok Kharat from Bardapur police station said the accident might have taken place due to fog.

“The bus was heading towards Aurangabad from Latur, whereas the truck from Karantaka was going towards Latur when the collision took place. The conductor and few passengers died on the spot,” he said.

The deceased have been identified as Chandrashekhar Patil (conductor), Nalini Mukund Deshmukh (both from Aurangabad), Adil Salim Shaikh (from Ambajogai, Beed) and Mohammed Sadiq Nawab (Latur).
