The Jets are in need of a kicker after Jason Myers decided to return to the Seattle Seahawks on a four-year deal.
New York was unwilling to meet Myers’ contract demands and stopped conversations with the 2018 Pro Bowler. That means the Jets are now in the market for their fourth kicker in as many years.
With a lot of special teams turnover for Gang Green, let’s take a look at the available kickers left on the free agent market.
Stephen Gostkowski

Stephen Gostkowski has been one of the best kickers in the NFL since he entered the league in 2006.
For 13 seasons, he has established a Hall of Fame career with the Patriots, one the Jets have become a little too familiar with. While it is expected that Gostkowski returns to New England, it’s not a sure thing.
The Jets, who still have roughly $40 million in cap space, could come in to woo Gostkowski with a sweetened deal. However, it is unlikely they are willing to spend a premium on the kicking position when they allowed Myers to walk.
Matt Bryant

Although Matt Bryant hasn’t enjoyed the same accolades as Gostkowski, he has still been one of the more reliable kickers across the NFL during his 10-year tenure with the Atlanta Falcons.
Even at 43, Bryant still has a lot left in the tank. Last season, he made 20-of-21 field goals before a hamstring injury cut his 2018 campaign short. In 2017, Bryant made 34-of-39 field goal attempts and was perfect kicking extra points.
Bryant would not be a youth-centric option, but he’s still one of the best kickers on the open market.
Dan Bailey

Before settling on Jason Myers as their kicker for the 2018 season, the Jets brought Dan Bailey in for a workout.
There was mutual interest, but Bailey spent his first season away from the Dallas Cowboys in Minnesota. With the Cowboys, Bailey was the most accurate kicker of all time. However, he only went 21-of-28 with the Vikings.
Nick Rose

Nick Rose would be a youth-centric option at kicker who has never really been given a fair shake at the position.
In Rose’s career, he has made 11-of-14 field goals while making the rounds on six different NFL teams, most recently the Los Angeles Chargers. Currently, Rose is trying to find his way back into the NFL, kicking for the San Antonio Commanders in the Alliance of American Football.
Rose was in Jets camp for a short period of time in 2018, so the front office is familiar with him. He makes sense as an option if the Jets choose to go with youth over experience.
