4 July: Casting news

Miranda Richardson, Christopher Eccleston (pictured) and Bill Paterson have joined the cast of Terry Gilliam's The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. They will join Johnny Depp, Vanessa Paradis and Jean Rochefort for Gilliam's update of Miguel de Cervantes' 17th century classic, due to begin shooting in Spain and the UK in September.

Patrick Stewart has confirmed there is to be a 10th Star Trek movie, and that he will be involved. The film will again feature the crew of The Next Generation, Stewart told Scifi.com. "A director has not been selected," said Stewart, "We're really at the very earliest stages of creating a possible story for this film."

New cast signings have been announced for Sarah Michelle Gellar's next film, Harvard Man. The TV slayer will be joined by her Scream 2 co-star Rebecca Gayheart, basketball star Ray Allen and Eric Stoltz for the film which sees Gellar playing a professor of philosophy who has an affair with a student baseball player.
