LAMPANG: Four people were injured in a fight during a concert by Pongsit Kamphee on Thursday night that led to the singer swiftly ending his performance.

The fight erupted among a group of youths in the audience during a concert celebrating the winter festival at Lampang Sports stadium which drew more than 1,000 fans, police said.

While Pongsit, a songs-for-life rocker, was performing, a group of youths to the right of the stage began fighting, which resulted in the band pausing the concert.

Shortly after the concert resumed, the same group of youths began to brawl, throwing punches and throwing objects through the air.

The singer called for the youths to stop fighting and throwing things, warning that children at the concert could be hurt.

“That is enough everyone, slowly make your way home and take care of your friends,” he said, before leaving the stage with the band.

Many in the audience were unhappy with the youths for bringing the concert to an early close and began attacking the original fighters, who ran away. Some climbed over a fence.

A total of four people were injured.

The police said they had arrested Saifah Yanakul 21, who was alledgedly carrying a pocket knife and used it to slash a man in the face.
