4 govs urge residents to stay home during Japan's Golden Week

The governors of Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa held a teleconference on Wednesday and issued a joint statement urging residents to stay home during the Golden Week holidays to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.

The four governors asked residents to not travel outside their own prefecture during the holidays and called for people to refrain from drinking on the streets.

The central government has implemented a third state of emergency for Tokyo and emergency-level priority measures for Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa prefectures.
