With the news the Pittsburgh Steelers might be without safety Morgan Burnett in 2019, the need for additional help at the position would become a much higher priority. The Steelers spent their first-round pick in 2018 on Terrell Edmunds so it would be wise to round out the depth chart with a veteran this time around. Here are four guys who could be available to round out the depth chart.
Adrian Amos
It’s probably a little ambitious to think the Chicago Bears are going to let Adrian Amos hit free agency but if he does, he would be the top choice on this list. Amos is a physical box safety who would be exceptional as the hybrid dime safety/linebacker as s run defender.
Tre Boston

Plenty of Steelers’ fans wanted Pittsburgh to sign Tre Boston last offseason but he ended up in Arizona on a one-year contract. The Steelers would be wise not to let him sign somewhere else again this offseason. Boston wouldn’t be expensive and is likely available on a one-year contract. He had 79 tackles and three interceptions in 2018.
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

Back in 2014 the Steelers drafted linebacker Ryan Shazier in the first round. Just a few picks later the Green Bay Packers took safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Clinton-Dix was easily the next-best option for the Steelers, so it would be nice if Pittsburgh could get him now. Clinton-Dix had 92 tackles and three interceptions for Washington last season.
Tyrann Mathieu

Last up with have Tyrann Mathieu. Another guy the fanbase lobbied hard for last season, Mathieu ended up on the Houston Texans. Mathieu is only 27 years old and is still playing at such a high level. Other than Amos, there’s no guy on this list who could have a bigger impact than Mathieu.
