BRIEF: Man with gunshot wound drives to West Side police station

Jan. 05--A man drove to a West Side police station after he was shot while standing near his SUV on Tuesday morning, Chicago police said.

The man, 43, was shot around 6:40 a.m. in the 4400 block of West Monroe Street, about 2 miles from the station, according to police.

He walked inside and requested help after driving there, said Officer Jose Estrada, a spokesman for the Chicago Police.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

No one was reported in custody.
