Egypt said Saturday that four of its nationals were among those killed in the New Zealand mosque shootings.
The emigration ministry said that authorities in New Zealand have confirmed the deaths of the four Egyptians, including two 68-year-olds.
The ages of the other two victims were not given.
Scores of people were killed and injured in the mass shootings Friday at two mosques in Christchurch.
The Grand Imam of Egypt's famed Al-Azhar mosque and university has condemned the massacre as a "horrific terrorist attack".
The massacre “is a serious indicator of the consequences of rising rhetoric of hatred and xenophobia and the spread of Islamophobia" in countries "known for the coexistence of their inhabitants", said Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb.
The Christchurch attacks have sparked global revulsion, with leaders around the world calling for solidarity with Muslim communities.
