4 Cars To Consider Buying on Sale over Labor Day Weekend

Chevrolet

Labor Day is around the corner, and if you haven’t already made plans to head to your local dealership for some of the best savings over the long weekend, you should. Typically, automakers offer significant markdowns and price reductions on a wide array of vehicles over the Labor Day weekend and this year is no exception.

“As Labor Day approaches, car shoppers can expect significant savings, especially for those considering an electric vehicle,” John Vincent, autos senior editor and correspondent, vehicle testing at U.S. News and World Report. “With the federal EV tax credit of up to $7,500 set to expire on Sept. 30, this is a limited-time opportunity to save thousands.”

For from traditional gas-powered cars to newer electric models, here are four cars to consider buying on sale over the Labor Day Weekend.

Toyota Crown

According to Dale Gillespie, chief operating officer at DirectKia, the 2024 Toyota Crown easily tops the list of cars to look for on Labor weekend sales.

“This car had an excellent fuel economy, with an MSRP of $46,950, buyers can expect to get 4% off this price this Labor Day weekend,” explained Gillespie.

Apart from being equipped with advanced safety features, Gillespie described how the Crown stands out also for its luxurious interior and high performance, and the fact that this car is made by Toyota “is like icing on the cake as buyers can be sure of its reliability.”

Chevrolet Equinox

Carl Rodriguez, the head of marketing and founder of NX Auto Transport, highlighted the Equinox as a top pick for a Labor Day buy since it is offered on 0% APR, making financing options available without interest.

“The Equinox is statistically the best selling EV that isn’t a Tesla,” Rodriguez went on to say. “It costs under $40,000 which brings affordability and electric efficiency under a very appealing intersection of practicality.”

Subaru Solterra

Pointing to the EV tax credit that is set to expire this coming Sept. 30, Caulkins suggested that buyers look into the 2024 Subaru Solterra for the opportunity to cash in on double savings, first from the Labor weekend sale and then from the EV tax credit

“With the MSRP for this vehicle starting at $46,340, buyers can expect up to 5% off the manufacturer’s recommended sale price for this vehicle,” added Gillespie.

Hyundai Palisade

If you are getting set to take on carpool duty or doing pick up and drop offs for after school practices and rehearsals, you’ll need a car that can carry a lot of people safely. Look no further than the Hyundai Palisade, with 2024 models going for a base MSRP of $37,725.

“For families needing a three-row SUV, look no further than the Palisade,” Rodriguez offered. “If size, competitive pricing and breadth of warranty coverage are what float your boat, this car is for you.”
