4 Cardinals whose stock dropped in preseason opener

Not everyone for the Arizona Cardinals made a good impression in the team’s 17-13 preseason-opening win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday. Some players helped themselves and stood out. Others saw their stock fall some.

Here are four players who did more to hurt their chances of making the team more than they helped.

Rees Odhiambo

Odhiambo played left tackle on the second-team offense struggled. He gave up pressure. He completely whiffed on one block that got Brett Hundley knocked down. He had two holding penalties. His hold on the backup left tackle job is tenuous at best.

Fortunately for Odhiambo, Cunningham didn’t do much better. He also had holding penalties and was inconsistent in pass blocking.

Drew Anderson

Cardinals Training Camp 2019

Anderson was believed to be the better fit for the Cardinals offensively because of his background in the offense while in college. However, He did not play well. He completed only 3-of-7 passes for 29 yards and was picked off.

D.J. Foster

Cardinals Training Camp

Foster is a player battling for a roster spot and did not do anything offensively to help himself. He dropped a pass and lost one yard on three touches. That, combined with Wes Hill’s and Dontae Strickland’s play in the second half make Foster’s stock go down.
