4 Broncos offensive players who will become free agents in 2020

The offense of the Denver Broncos will look a lot different in 2019 with Joe Flacco taking the reigns at quarterback. But following the season, some key players will hit the market as unrestricted free agents.

Previously, we looked at the key defensive players who will be part of that same free agent market, so let’s take some time to forecast the future and talk about four offensive players who might be playing in their last season with the team.

Emmanuel Sanders

2019 salary: $11 million

Sanders has been a trooper for the Broncos and is a favorite among fans. Believe it or not, he already ranks eighth on the team’s all-time list for receptions with 374.

But he is 32 years old and is coming off a serious Achilles injury. The Broncos have also prepared for his eventual departure by drafting Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton.

2019 salary: $626,077

Another fan favorite, Janovich does the dirty work, like most fullbacks. A great blocker and a solid special teams guy, Janovich is an unsung hero at times for the Broncos.

With Rich Scangarello coming over from the San Francisco 49ers where he worked under Kyle Shanahan to be the team’s new offensive coordinator, Janovich figures to have a bigger role on offense.

Devontae Booker

Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

2019 salary: $680,848

Booker will be entering the final year of his contract. Since he’s clearly behind both Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman on the depth chart, it’s highly possible he could look for a fresh start elsewhere after this season.

In three seasons, Booker has rushed for 1,094 yards and six touchdowns while averaging 3.8 yards per carry.

Connor McGovern

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

2019 salary: $650,975

McGovern has worked his way into a starting role on the Broncos’ offensive line and with a good 2019 season, should earn himself a new contract with the team.

The Broncos don’t have a deep group at offensive line so the team needs to put an extra emphasis on keeping its core unit together.

McGovern has started in 20 games over the last two seasons for the team and is still just 26 years old. He has a lot of football left.
