4 bold predictions for Ravens in Week 5 against Steelers

The Baltimore Ravens have a shot at putting themselves back at the top of the AFC North with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5. A loss could actually put them in third within the division and make the rest of the season an absolute slog.

To get you even more excited for this matchup, the writers here at Ravens Wire have put together some bold predictions. Some are crazier than others, but all are plausible predictions we can see playing out in Week 5.

Let’s take a look at our four bold predictions for the Ravens vs. Steelers this week.

Matthew Stevens:

Lamar Jackson finds his mojo again, throwing for over 300 yards and three touchdowns

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The Steelers linebackers have had trouble in coverage this season, and against tight end Mark Andrews, it isn’t going to get better. Pittsburgh will spend too much time trying to take him out of the game, leaving guys like Marquise Brown open, or they won’t be able to contain Andrews and he’ll be Jackson’s go-to guy for 60 minutes. Either way, the Steelers secondary is still suspect and they aren’t fully prepared for a guy like Jackson.

With the Steelers shoddy secondary looking to contain the deep threat of Marquise Brown, the tight ends will run rampant and find open lanes throughout the defense. The Ravens offense relies heavily on the production of their tight ends, and this game will highlight how productive and dangerous each player can be when unaccounted for.

Neil Dutton:

Mark Ingram rushes for 150 yards

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

This will be an old-school AFC North slugfest, and in order to properly celebrate this, the Ravens will lean on Ingram in a big way. Ingram won’t disappoint as he rushes for a season-high 150 yards.

Kevin Oestreicher:

Tony Jefferson gets an interception

People have been quick to call out Jefferson for his struggles in coverage this season. He’s more of a run-stuffing safety asked to do a lot he isn’t used to by the coaching staff. While he hasn’t been great in coverage this year, I expect Jefferson to have his best game of the year against the Steelers, a team who he played well against in Pittsburgh last year. Jefferson will silence some critics on Sunday after he notches his first interception of the season.
